New facts surfaced in Glenn Frey's death case

New court documents have revealed new information about the rock star's death.

Mount Sinai Hospital and Dr. Steven Itzkowitz both denied causing Glenn Frey's death, as reported by Country Rebel.

Glenn's widow, Cindy Frey, had filed a lawsuit against the hospital and doctor in charge of his care just a year after his death.

Glenn, who was a founding member of American rock band, Eagles, died at the age of 67.

Cindy claimed that Mount Sinai Hospital and Dr. Itzkowitz neglected its duty while Grey was in their care, resulting in wrongful death.

Because of their negligence, 'Glenn Frey was rendered sick, lame and disabled,' the lawsuit reads.

But both the hospital and the doctor denied any wrongdoing. Not only did they deny mistreating the rockstar, they also alleged that he had caused his own death.

The hospital and the doctor are demanding that the case against them be dismissed.

Glenn's widow is seeking unspecified damages from both the hospital and the doctor.

Glenn rose to prominence as the lead singer of Eagles. He played guitar and keyboards.

He also sang lead vocals on such songs as Take It Easy, Peaceful Easy Feeling, Tequila Sunrise and Already Gone. He won six Grammy awards and five American Music Awards as a member of Eagles.

In 1998, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Glenn launched a solo career after Eagles disbanded in 1980.  He released his debut album, No Fun Allowed, in 1982.

Among his more popular songs are The One You Love, Smuggler's Blues, Sexy Girl, The Heat Is On, You Belong to the City, True Love, Soul Searchin' and Livin' Right.

The legendary musician passed away in January 2016. Before his death, he struggled with a number of ailments, including rheumatoid arthritis and acute ulcerative colitis.

Glenn was born in Detroit, Michigan, where he studied piano at age five. He switched to guitar later and became part of the mid-1960's Detroit rock scene.
